Poor old Gordon. To witness the slow (and uncomfortable) demise of this man is going to be both tragic and fascinating.

It's as though none of us have ever even considered him as PM material but we didn't bother doing anything about it until it looked like it was about to happen. Now the wheels have started turning and we're all against him. As my mum would say "we let him build his hopes up".

The worst thing is that his enemies have set the agenda and he is now forced to try to prove them wrong; by smiling, talking about his feelings, his family and so on. It looks so wrong. Especially the smile.

As much as I don't want him to be the next PM, you have to feel for him. Even so, the coming weeks and months will be a treat.
